Hou also advocated for the development of Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities to maintain peace and suggested that cross-strait exchanges should start from the civil sector before moving to official government interactions to minimize risks.

Kuomintang’s presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih respects the decision of Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je, regardless of the outcome of the Blue-White alliance.
